    About Us

Reader’s Warehouse is a local, independent discount book warehouse chain.

Starting from the owner’s garages and flea market many years ago. Reader’s Warehouse now operates six permanent store locations and one pop up sale store.

During the past three years we have saved our customers over R24 million rand in discounting books from our suppliers.

The first store opened its doors in October 2008. The bookstore used to be based in Kloof street, in the CBD of Cape Town, called Reader’s Paradise

This store relocated in 2009 and was opened in Tokai, Cape Town.

Since then we have managed to open 4 stores in Cape Town and 4 stores within Johannesburg.

We are pleased to be able to offer our customers literally thousands of interesting and irresistibly-priced titles in a pleasantly relaxing environment.

The cornerstone of our selection and value is our exceptional selection of “bargain” – remainders, publishers’ overstocks, reprints, hurt (slightly damaged) books, samples, bankruptcy stock, and special imports. These books represent well over 70% of our inventory and present our customers with our most interesting titles and our greatest bargains.

Each of our permanent branches have a custom designed children’s section. Our focus on making reading affordable, fun and part of the family experience. Adding value to the work done in schools and encourages reading from an early age.

Our stores pride themselves on offering a vast range of both Fiction and Non-Fiction, at prices that must be seen to be believed. From top selling fiction authors to some of the best cookery titles on the market.

In 2014 we will be building on our ecommerce website – starting a children book club and deal of the day program for our customers.
